Nothing beats the comfort of your own home

It’s often said that ‘Home’ is a place where nothing matters, it’s also often believed that the comfort of the home matters the most. Left to us, we’ll say the home is where you chose and it chose you too.

Needing an escape from the present, past, and sometimes a run from the unpredictable future forces us to crave a place ‘out of this world’ but also within.

Demaxon has over the years existed to bring this desire for an escape to reality through our property brokerage and facilities management services.

Desiring a home, one that is surrounded by the ones we love, one sighted in the safest neighborhoods. Through the windows, you can see the sun setting and disappearing into the clouds. A place where the sun doesn’t seem against you, just ready to pass by…

Things to keep in mind while creating your dream house:

1. Budget Wisely

While it’s easy to get wrapped up in the excitement of building or acquiring a new home, it can also become overwhelming when there is not a clear understanding of all construction costs to come. By knowing site costs, allowances, government fees, and other add-ons before breaking ground, you will be able to plan accordingly & stay within your budget and your timeline.

2. Family Needs and Lifestyles

Before designing your house, think of your needs and the lifestyle of your family to ensure comfort. Building a house that does not serve all aspects of your routine or fit into your lifestyle is like putting a fish in a dry bucket. Family needs and lifestyles vary as it depends on individual preferences, stages, and plans. The size of your immediate family and others who will live with you, as well as your present and future needs, should determine the square footage and the number of rooms to include in your plan.

Aside from this, how often do you entertain guests, especially visitors who stay with your family for a long period? You may want to consider creating a separate room for them.

Where do you often gather with your family to spend time together, maybe during prayer, family function, or just to play? Is it in the living room, bedroom, or the kitchen area? This should be considered.

3. Do Your Research

When it comes to the location of your forever home, there’s no such thing as too much research. What would your daily commute to work be like? If you plan on growing your family, is there access to good schools and parks? What about access to shops, restaurants, and other amenities? How is the crime rate? Are there any future building proposals or developments in the works?

Though it may seem overwhelming, planning ahead for your dream home will save you stress long term. For instance, you wouldn’t want to build your dream home on a lake, if you’re more of a beach kind of person.

4. Think Safety and Privacy

You want to feel safe and secure in your fabulous new home. For this reason, be sure to consider things like exterior lighting, a security system, and even fire exits when planning your build. These simple features will give you peace of mind  as you cozy up in your dream home.

Consider the surrounding homes or property to know how to place your windows. If you also need outdoor privacy, consider designing your home with enclosed patios, porches, and deck areas.

5. Furnishings

It’s important to create a house design that would accommodate the pieces of furniture you have now and those you intend to buy later. Create enough space for sitting areas and placement of furniture when planning the sizes of your rooms. Do this by picturing the layout of each room on the floor plans you are considering in order to determine what type of furniture, and how much of it you have or will need.

Consider the traffic flow from room to room and the best place to place the furniture to allow natural light and air penetrate through windows, doors and views.

Lastly , building your dream house could be costly and time-consuming. However, it comes with great benefits as it gives you the opportunity to personalize your house in a way that fits your lifestyle and desires.
